چکیده

Recent findings indicate that the microbiota is involved in development of lung cancer by inducing inflammatory responses and generating genome damage. This study aimed to compare sputum microbiomes from mouth oropharynx non-small cell carcinoma (NSCLC) patients. A second goal was search for bacterial taxonomic units behave differently microbiome NSCLC patients healthy subjects. In study, composition oropharyngeal 23 male with untreated 20 subjects were compared. Next-generation sequencing 16S rRNA genes used determine respiratory microbiome. Using Kruskal-Wallis test, increased alpha diversity observed compared oropharynx, but this evident only not Robust Aitchison PCA differences beta found between samples, these significant both (p = 0.045) controls 0.009). However, no statistical detected using when comparing samples controls, nor alone. Analysis relative percentage individual taxa Mann-Whitney U-test, taking into account FDR correction, showed an increase genus Rothia patients, as control (4.98 ± 6.33 vs 2.21 6.28; p 0.0008). linear discriminant analysis LefSe did show a differentially regulated feature oropharynx. Thus, more research needed identify possible biomarkers

Expression of Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor and the association with Demographic and Prognostic Factors in Patients with Non-small Cell Lung Cancer

Introduction: Growth, proliferation, survival, and differentiation are the prominent characteristics of cells, which are affected by cancer. Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) plays a pivotal role in the effective control of these features. Given the significance of EGFR signaling pathway in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), EGFR expression is influential on these cell characteristics. I...
